ADOPT
Below is a list of Labs that will be available for adoption soon. Since we don't have a shelter, our Labs are housed in foster homes. Labs new to our program are kept in a coming soon status for a minimum of 12 days while our foster families get to know them and to get them ready to be adopted. Coming Soon Labs are not available to meet or to go to public events. When they are cleared to be adopted they will appear on our Available Labs page.
Click each picture to find what our foster families have to say about each of our dogs - this information is preliminary and may change once the Lab is available to be adopted.
The adoption fee for an adult Lab is $300 + State Tax. The adoption fee for puppies (6 months and under) is $375 + State Tax.
If you are interested in any of our coming soon Labs, we urge you to complete an adoption application. Adoption information and application is found here. If you have questions about the adoption application process, send an email to our Applications Team.

Hello to all the DFW Lab friends that stop by to read about me. Before I came to my foster home I was not handled much. Then one day the volunteers from DFW Lab Rescue showed up. I did not understand that they were there to help us and not having learned to trust any humans, I tried really hard to run away. I was terrified. My foster mom saw that immediately and knew I would take a bit more time than the others to find my forever home and successfully move on to be a beloved family member. My foster parents have been teaching me at my pace. I am walking on a leash in the neighborhood now and I love going for walks unless it's trash day - those cans scare me. I am allowed to slow down and sniff which helps me to understand more. Sometimes I get nervous like when we stop to talk to neighbors. I will stand behind my foster family and study the strangers until they leave and I am getting more comfortable with people at a distance.
I can now eat treats from my foster mom’s hands. In the evening she sits on the floor with us and we are learning sit which I hate and lie down which I have mastered. She is always talking to me and tells me when I am a good girl. I get a bit nervous about her motives and won’t come when asked yet but we will see how that goes in the near future. We still have a long way to go and I am going to visit with a trainer for some more focused training this week. I like my foster dad unless he puts me in the crate. When he lets me out I give him a single “what for” bark then go on my way. He still makes me a little nervous but he means well so I will give him a little affection now and then.
I love my foster siblings. They make me feel safe. The yellow girl barks to warn us of ANY possible danger. This way I can run in or out the dog door. Speaking of the dog door, it is so handy and I have learned to go outside whenever I want to go potty. I like my foster mom the best. She is very patient with me. She will play with me if my foster siblings won’t. Since I have been here we have had two other fosters my age and I have learned a lot about playing.
Please check back for updates. I will remind my foster mom to post them so you will know when I am getting ready for my forever home.
Jeau - 2.2 Year Old Male
COMING SOON
Initial intake information: Black Male - 70 lbs - Heartworm Negative - Avail Mid Jan
My name is Jeau and I'm getting settled into my foster home. They say I had a rough start in life at a breeder for the first year of my life and then I was with someone who kept me out in the yard all the time. I didn't know how good it was to sleep in air conditioning at night! I'm not used to foster mom and dad quite yet but I'm starting to trust them and like the mom best so far. I'm not so sure of that guy that tries to pet me, but I'm liking him more and more every day. They tell me that I need more socialization skills around people, but I sure do like to run around in the yard with my foster brothers.
From Jeau's foster mom: Jeau is a sweet guy, very timid, and just needs lots of love and patience. He walks well on a leash, but can get startled by sudden noises. He is crate and house trained, and likes to play with his foster brothers. He's looking for someone that can love him and help him gain confidence through day to day interaction with people. He has come a long way since we brought him home, but it will take a lot of loving to bring this sweet guy to be the doggy he was meant to be. If you have time to be patient and loving, he will become a great companion and angel for you.
Molly May - 3.2 Year Old Female
COMING SOON
Initial intake information: Black Female - 55bs - Heartworm Postive - Est available end of Feb
After a few weeks of recovery, Molly’s true lab has come out! She is so joyful. She loves to snuggle with her foster dad, go for walks and romp in a field with her dog buddies. The hurt leg was really holding her back and now that it’s gone, she is a swift runner and isn’t afraid to play. We have 3 dogs and 2 cats and Molly gets along with everyone. She also loves car rides and will be glad when so many of them don’t stop at the vet! Molly does take time to warm up to new people but after about 30 minutes she’ll lean in for pets. We’re working on introducing her to more people and expect to see improvement there.
Molly takes well to all training and encouragement. She’s such a lovely girl and will be the perfect family member.
Molly is heartworm positive and her treatment will now start since she’s recovered from surgery. When she’s ready for adoption, I hope she’s on your match list.

Jolly - 6.1 Year Old Male
COMING SOON
Initial intake information: Black Male 70 lbs - Heartworm postive - Est available Mid Feb
Hi, my name is Jolly and as you can see from my picture, I am a stunningly handsome black lab. I have not had the best of care up until now, so I am currently going through my final medical treatments and doing fabulous.
If you want someone that will be your best boy ever and has loads of love to give ……. read on and pick me, pick me…….
What my foster parents say about me: Jolly is a very well behaved boy. No counter surfing, no stealing food, he doesn’t bother you when you’re eating and has not chewed anything that isn’t his. It appears that he was left outside most of the time, and now that he has been living indoors, he is absolutely loving all the comforts of a home life. He has had to learn bathroom etiquette and has mastered this. He also loves playing with his squeaky moose or rummaging through his play box for a tennis ball or nylabone and he loves to bring his toys and play where you are.
In the evenings, he loves nothing more than a snuggle on the couch. Well, actually, lets be totally honest, anytime you sit down, he’s ready for a snuggle, he’s that much of a love bug. He doesn’t get up on our bed, but he does love to sleep on his bed next to you and in the morning, you are greeted with the biggest, most excitable wiggly lab you could wish for. He is so pleased to see you and start his day.
A quiet home, without small children, is a must as they make Jolly very nervous with their noise and speed. Older teenagers / young adults would be fine. He loves neighborhood walks and gets excited to see other dogs. He was surrendered with his female sibling, so an only dog home or another family dog with good doggy 101 skills would be great. Jolly eats in his crate and has been learning that a crate is safe and short stints in the crate are ok... it’s a work in progress. Jolly doesn’t understand he’s not old enough to have a drivers license, so car travel is him being secured in a seatbelt harness or travel crate which he does great with.
Jolly really is a gentle boy and is pretty much perfect, we’re smitten ……. You’ve just got to meet him....
Aster - 1.6 Year Old Male
COMING SOON
Initial intake information: Black Male 40 lbs - Heartworm negative - Est available TBD
Hi! I’m Aster, I’m a young guy that is just now learning about the good life. In the past few days, I’ve learned that I love to be in the house and after the first couple of times someone kissed my nose, I decided I really like it. I love to snuggle, but I’m also learning to play with my foster sisters, they’re kind of bossy, but I’m okay being the submissive one.
I love dog beds, people beds, pillows and blankets! I’ll even go grab a blanket off the bed or couch and bring it to my bed to snuggle! I’m just starting to learn about dog treats, there are lots of yummy ones, but I like to take time to think about new things.
I am potty trained and have just learned how to use the doggie door too. I’m a very quite little guy, I haven’t barked at all, but my foster sisters probably do enough for that for all of us.
I’m a very good boy, but I am still a puppy and learning which things I’m allowed to chew on and which ones I’m not. Nike slides are a no, but I love how soft and squishy they are.
I’m very nervous on a leash right now, but we’re working on it each day. I do not like the crate as I don’t like to be away from my people, but I’m going to keep working on it!

This sweet boy had to be surrendered by his owner that had had him since he was a puppy. The owner was being moved into assisted living so was no longer able to care for her boys. Chris is a chill guy, loves rolling in the grass, getting his head scratched and is a pro at napping! He is housebroken and trusted in the house without a crate. Like all of us as we age we sometimes our health isn't the best, he is currently being treating for elevated liver enzymes. He was brought in with his friend Rchee and would love to see them go together but if you are willing to open your heart and home to this handsome fella he will be fur-ever grateful!

I came to my foster family already knowing the commands sit and shake. I’m working on lie down but getting better at that. I’m not a chewer and I know where to go potty. I love snuggles and will offer you my paw to hold when I want some love. Stay tuned for updates as I settle in with my foster family!

Jacz is a gorgeous silver male puppy, crate- and house-trained, with soft fur and sweet as can be. He sits for a treat and gives the paw, loves to play fetch, and he plays chase and wrestles happily with his furry foster sisters (labs). He would love to be your giant lap dog and lick your face if you would just let him! He responds quickly to a stern “No” and just needs some consistent guidance on manners. He might be a sock stealer! He loves the Benebone and Nylabone and seems to know which toys are for him. He is a typical goofy and energetic puppy. Small dogs and cats and children are unknown.
